“Yoga” Why And How To Do Both (Surya + Chandra ) Namaskara (The Sun and Moon Salutation)

Namaskara is a salutation offering respect and reverence to the sun. It is a traditional Indian greeting and form of greeting among yoga practitioners. It is also used as a pose in yoga. Various parts of the body are slowly moved into position while bending forward. The knees are kept straight and arms are folded across the chest, with palms facing upwards. The head touches the floor. The Namaskara is regarded as one of the most important Yogic exercises by the yogis and is also believed to be one of the best salutations to offer to the sun. It has been said that the Namaskara is also beneficial for physical and mental health. It helps in strengthening muscles, bones, and joints while improving flexibility and mobility in the body.
