World Bank: India’s GPA growth increased to 6.9% in 2023

The World Bank has upgraded its India growth forecast for 2022-23 based on the country’s strong performance in the September quarter. The multilateral institution said, “Strong domestic demand and a supportive external environment” have boosted the country’s economic prospects. In its latest India Development Update report, released on Tuesday, the World Bank said it had upgraded its growth projection for 2022-23 by 0.4 percentage points to 6.9% based on “a strong performance in the September quarter”. The multilateral lender had earlier predicted that India would grow by 6.5% in 2022-23.
