President Droupadi Murmu will launch an EV yatra portal and a mobile application, which will facilitate in-vehicle navigation to the nearest public EV charger, on Wednesday. The government of India launched the ‘EV Yatra’ app and portal on Thursday.
The Bureau of Energy Efficiency has developed a mobile application to facilitate in-vehicle navigation to the nearest public EV charger, and a website to disseminate information on various central and state-level initiatives to promote e-mobility in the country.
BEE has also developed a web portal to enable charging point operators (CPs) to register themselves in the e-mobility ecosystem. The portal will provide information on various central and state-level initiatives to promote e-mobility in the country.
The web portal will also facilitate the mapping of both public and private charging points. Moreover, it will allow CPs to register themselves in the e-mobility ecosystem and will provide information on various central and state-level initiatives to promote e-mobility in the country.
Simultaneously, EV yatra portal will facilitate the mapping of both public and private charging points.
The launch of the app is part of the government’s overarching bid to spur the overall e-mobility ecosystem in the country. The app will enable users to easily fetch information related to public EV charging stations in their vicinity.
After accessing a user’s GPS coordinates, the app will provide real-time data regarding the types of chargers installed at the station, availability of charging slots, prevailing prices, and other relevant information. Users will also be able to pay for charging through the app.
The portal will provide a comprehensive overview of key stakeholders such as government agencies, private companies, electric vehicle manufacturers, charging station providers, and so on. The app will also enable users to access a detailed list of EV charging stations in their vicinity.
The list will include the types of chargers installed at the station, availability of slots, prevailing prices, and other relevant information. Users can then connect with the respective charging station providers through the app.
