Massive Fire Breakout: Over 700 Shops Burnt to Ashes in Arunachal

Massive fire broke out from a house in the forest colony of Naharalagun area of Arunachal Pradesh’s Itanagar on Tuesday, burning over 700 shops. Fortunately, there are no casualties reported so far.

The owner of the house said the fire had burnt down the 15 rooms of the Kutcha house completely along with properties worth lakhs and documents. However, the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

According to sources, the fire engulfed only 2 shops in the initial 2hours but spread further due to the inefficiency of the fire department. The fire department officials claimed that they reached the location right after receiving information and was successful in controlling the fire with the help of personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and locals there. Nevertheless there was a delay due to the massive traffic jam which made it difficult for the fire brigade vehicle to reach the spot on time.
