Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated 75 Digital Banking Units (DBU) in 75 Districts across the country to celebrate India’s 75th Independence Anniversary. All services will be offered in a digital, paperless, and entirely secure manner.
To cater to the needs and preferences of a vast cross-section of people, DBUs will provide services in two modes: Self-Service Zone and Digital Assistance Zone. The DBU services being offered under self-service mode are available 24×7, 365 days a year. The services being offered under the digital assistance mode are available between 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Saturday.
The DBU will also provide banking services through mobile ATMs and Micro ATMs. DBUs will also be offering a range of value-added services such as cash deposit, withdrawal, and exchange, for which customers need not visit the branch.
They can either use their Aadhar number or mobile numbers to access these facilities. The DBU will also allow customers to make a cash deposit or withdrawal of up to Rs 1 lakh. Customers can also use this facility for making payments through electronic modes such as e-wallets and other payment systems such as NEFT, RTGS, UPI, etc.
