The best time to visit:

The best time to visit Jaisalmer is during winters i.e., between October – March. The weather during this period is ideal.

How to reach:

Airport – The nearest airport to Jaisalmer is about 300km away in Jodhpur. One needs to book a cab or drive down through a bus from airport from Jodhpur.

Railway – The train station in Jaisalmer is well connected to all the major cities within Rajasthan as well across India.
From Delhi the travel time via train to Jodhpur is 17 hours.

Bus – If you enjoy a long road travel, you could take a bus route to Jaisalmer from Delhi which is about 12-14 hours journey.

Jaisalmer Itinerary: Best places to visit in Jaisalmer in 2 days

Day 1

1.Patwa Haveli:

Take a tour of this mansion haveli or visit the museum located within this haveli, this spot is not to missed out. The haveli is open on all days to its visitors from 8 :30 AM to 6:40 PM.

 

2.Jaisalmer Fort :

 

K.a the sonar qila, this fort is an unmissable place in the itinerary list of Jaisalmer. The specialty of the fort is that it’s the only “living fort” with people and visitors residing in it.
While most of this visit around this place is free, some sites may charge you with nominal fee.
Besides the hustles and bustles of fort one can find canon point view and an enchanting Jain temple within the Jaisalmer Fort.

 

3.Dine with a view:

 

Besides walking and shopping around the palace and the havelis of Jaisalmer, one can sit and dine in them

Day 2

1.Desert Safari:

How about a camel ride with a sip of tea and snacks in a tent house on sand duned area? Sounds exciting, isn’t it!

2.Kuldhara village:

Ever heard of an abandoned village? Well now you can visit one such on your trip to Jaisalmer.
Located 21 km from Jaisalmer,this village has been abandoned since 19th century.
If you love thrills, chills and adventure then this place is not to be missed.
The visiting hours are limited till evening 6 pm and one can stop by as you take your path to safari.

3.Desert oasis


Located off the road between Kuldhara and sand dunes, this is the most serene and beautiful places to visit.
