1.Shree 420 (1955)
Whenever classics of Indian cinema is spoken about, Shree 420 flashes to our minds. Be it the amazing chemistry of Raj Kapoor and Nargis or the most famous “Pyaar hua Ikrar hua”,this movie makes it to the top list of greatest Indian cinema classics of all time .
2.Naya Daur (1957)
Do you remember the song Ude Jab Jab zulfein and Dilip Kumar, Vyjayantimala dancing to the tunes. Naya Daur gained a huge success, besides giving Dilip saab film fare for the third time subsequently.
3.Mother India (1957)
Mother India is considered to be one of the greatest films in India and for world cinema. It released when India was still unsure of its destiny. This film starred Suni Dutt and Nargis in pivotal roles and gained critical acclaims .
4.Pyaasa (1957)

A timeless classic with the stalwarts associated right from the actor/ director Guru Dutt to SD Burman music to Sahir Ludhianvi’s lyrics, Pyaasa is an invaluable piece Indian cinema could ever present.
5.Pather Panchali (1955)
A story depicting the desolate consequences of deliberate poverty Pather Panchali is first in Satyajit Ray’s Apu Triology. Pather Panchali is a rare achievement to Indian Film making with small budget and amateur actors .
6.Guide ( 1965)
An adaptation of R K Narayan’s novel, beautifully depicted by the director Vijay Anand, Guide delves much deeper into the society and its practices in which that love germinates, prospers and decays.SD Burman’s soulful compositions to Waheeda-Dev Anand striking performance, Guide represents analyzing the society in which we dwell.
7.Padosan(1968)

One of the all time finest comedy in Indian Cinematic history, Padosan can send audience to laughter spells even today. With Mehmood, Kishore Kumar, Sunil Dutt and Saira Banu in pivotal roles, this movie makes it to top 10 of Indian classics.
And, who can forget that fun filled jugalbandi between Kishore Kumar and Mehmood on screen. Worth watching!!
8.Awara (1951)

Remember the show man Raj Kapoor’s chaplin-esque! Awara reminisces the dark lessons of ancient Ramayan with sparkle of surreal fantasy.
9.Do Ankein Baarah Haath(1957)
A visionary who’s contribution to Indian cinema is immense, V.Shantaram helms the story that became an unfathomable path to framing positive dimension to the then people of Independent India. With agriculture and self -sufficiency as main theme, DABH echoed voice of people of Independent India.
10.Mughal-E-Azam
The ever green classics of Indian cinema would be incomplete without the mention of Mughal-E-Azam. Should I call it a marvel, a master piece or attach any adjective, Mughal-E-Azam is an emotion to experience. From the settings to the costumes to the cast ensemble, where other directors strive their whole life to make one-K.Asif’s Mughal-E-Azam is an epic magnanimous ever created in history of Indian cinema. And not to forget the magnus opus song Pyaar kiya to darna kya and the madonna of Indian cinema Madhu Bala’s performance.
